Public Health and Social Services Individual Development Plan Application

Developed custom solution for Kennedy Kreiger Institute to help aspiring Public Health career experts to develop a plan that helps their journey.

Process

Kennedy Krieger has requested the development of a web application that focuses on guiding aspiring public health students in their career choices. The goal of the project is to provide a comprehensive resource that will educate students about the different career options available within the public health sector. The web application will include interactive assessments that will help students identify their strengths and preferences, and match them with the most suitable career clusters. The assessments will be designed to cover various aspects of public health, such as epidemiology, health education, and environmental health. The web application will also provide valuable information on the required education and training for each career path, as well as insights into the day-to-day work activities and responsibilities of public health professionals. Overall, the project aims to provide an engaging and informative platform that will help aspiring public health students make informed career decisions.

Results

KES Consulting worked with the team to take years of work and develop technical requirements that were translated into a comprehensive web application. The application was built with a number of technologies such as Next.Js, Supabase as the backend as a service and a decoupled Drupal CMS to house resources. We were able to move the project forward by thoroughly reviewing the project scope, identifying and addressing any issues or roadblocks, establishing clear communication with the client, and creating a realistic project timeline with achievable milestones.
